Are you listening to me?
I wonder what his expression says to the squawking grackle.
Punk Hair
A a crop I made from a photo I took of a female cardinal taking a break on top of our birdfeeder.
My Feet are Wet
A crop I made from a photo I took of a female grackle taking a bath and getting a drink.
Here Comes the Sun
This young bluejay landed on top of our birdfeeder when the sun was low in the west and I was ready.
Hawkeye
I was watching several chickadees and doves enjoying the feeder, when they darted into some nearby bushes. This fellow showed up and ruined their meal as he was looking for a meal of his own. This is one of the 60 or so photos I made while he was hanging around.
Hey, Buddy!
I was watching several chickadees and doves enjoying the feeder, when they darted into some nearby bushes. This fellow showed up and ruined their meal as he was looking for a meal of his own. This is one of the 60 or so photos I made while he was hanging around. I think he was checking me out as I kept clicking off photo after photo to make sure I wasn't getting too bold.
I think this cardinal spied me with my camera.
Seeing me taking his photo didn't stop this cardinal from grabbing a snack for the road.
I watched these doves interact for a while until the one on the left pecked the other dove in the head a few times.
This little fellow seemed to be a bit disoriented or maybe a little injured. He was trying to get shelter from the rain by standing close to the birdbath while there was a carport only a few feet away.
This little bird allowed me to get within about 4 feet to use my flash and make this photo. Amazing!
Just after I restocked the feeder, this hungry fellow stopped by to munch on some black sunflower seeds. I had only been through putting the feed out for about 15 minutes.
This little chickadee decided he wanted his meal from the hanging feeder.
On a bright sunny day, I made this photo of a sparrow trying to decide whether to drop to the ground or swoop into the hanging feeder. He was really concentrating.
I made this photo of a robin as he was heading intently to the water bowl for a drink.
I made this photo of the robin drinking while sitting in the bed of my truck about 8 feet away.
Are you looking at me?
This is the same robin in the photo where he is coming straight toward me. He had gotten his drink and fluffed his feathers at me before he headed out into the yard for lunch.
A woodpecker that landed on the post to one of our bird feeders. They usually prefer the hanging feeder.
My Good Side
I heard this little fellow flutter past my head before I saw him land on the suet feeder . The sunlight sure made his feathers glow.
A Big Mouthful
Occasionally a cardinal will snatch a raw peanut from the feeder, like this time.
Two Birds and a Nut
The cardinal and sparrow both saw me making this photo. The nut was oblivious.
Not While I'm Here!
The male cardinal wasn't too keen on sharing the goodies on the feeder with the sparrow.

A neighborhood hawk visited our platform feeder for a spell. Eventually, he decided it was time to leave.
